Deleting your data

How to ask Jireward to delete what we hold about you, what we delete, and what the law makes us keep.

Last updated 27 September 2026

1If you claimed rewards on WhatsApp

Message the Jireward WhatsApp number from the phone number you want deleted, type “help”, and ask for your data to be deleted. Sending it from that number is how we know the request is really yours.

2If you have a dashboard account

Email us from the address on your account, with the subject “Delete my data”. If you are the only owner of your brand’s account, we will first help you close the brand’s account and return its balance, because a wallet cannot be left without an owner.

3What we delete

  • Your phone number, and any number you asked to be paid on.
  • Your help conversations.
  • The link between you and your scans and survey answers. The brand’s counts stay correct, but nothing in them points to you any more.
  • For dashboard users: your name, email, phone number and sign-in.

4What we have to keep

Records of rewards and payments already made stay on our financial records for as long as tax law requires — at least seven years — because the brand’s money was spent on them. We keep only what those records need.

If you have a reward still waiting to be paid, tell us where to send it first, or it will be lost when your number is deleted.

5How long it takes

We confirm we have your request within 3 working days, and finish within 30 days. We tell you when it is done.

If you are unhappy with how we handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (odpc.go.ke). Our Privacy Notice explains everything else we keep and why.
